Sarah, owner of Blossom Barn Weddings moved to Freathy Farmhouse to fulfil her dream of running a Cornish B&B. In true romantic style, Freathy Farmhouse chose Sarah, rather than the other way around.

The farmhouse was last on her list of countless properties she’d viewed in search of living her dream in Cornwall. Sarah admits she didn’t even want to go inside, believing it was not what she was looking for. But when she took her first step through the front door, she soon realised she was ‘home’. Later, when she discovered the barn made the perfect venue for rustic weddings, Blossom Barn Weddings was born.

With the help of some gorgeous international and closer to home volunteers, who have since all become treasured members of Sarah’s family, and some friends old and new, Sarah’s vision to create the rare and exquisite venue it’s become today started to evolve. Sarah offered something that had a heart, rather than her just developing a business for the sake of making profit. Sarah’s vision was inspired from traditional weddings, where families could come together to arrange a wedding in the village hall, with hay bale seating and bunting hung from the ceiling.

The initial ventures of Freathy Farmhouse were expanded, and the grounds were transformed into a complete onsite exclusive wedding venue, with runaway elopement weddings and intimate rustic ceremonies held here. The venue continues to grow and now hosts weddings with up to 100 treasured guests.
